New-look website for exciting times ahead

Viking in Numbers Viking in Numbers Viking Energy has redesigned its website to keep you up-to-date as the wind farm project pushes onwards.

As well as any breaking news and statements on the wind farm’s progress, the website will carry stories and project information bulletins. The site is now fully compatible with tablets and smartphones.

The Blog page hosts photo galleries, videos about building wind farms and what it’s like to live near them plus short round-ups of Viking Energy-related activities.

You can register to receive updates from Viking Energy which will be issued more frequently as activity starts to ramp up in the coming year.

You can also join us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest news and views on wind power and climate change.

The new website presents an opportunity to refresh your knowledge of the community-backed wind farm and the huge benefits it could bring for Shetland. The Project page guides you through all the facts, figures and big issues involved with the £700 million development.

For the first time, the mass of documentation that went into gaining planning consent for the 103-turbine wind farm is available in an easily searchable form online. The archive contains over 550 detailed documents and illustrations published in 2009 and 2010, demonstrating the meticulous research and consultation that has gone into the project.

The new-look website was developed by Viking Energy in conjunction with the outstanding young Shetland digital marketing team at NB Communication and communications specialist Paul Riddell of Platform Shetland.

Viking Energy wishes to ensure as much wind farm-related work as possible is carried out by Shetland-based people and businesses at all stages of the development.

The website and its contents have been audited by the Advertising Standards Authority's Committee of Advertising Practice.
