All wind farms must go through a development stage before any construction can begin. For the Viking Wind farm this includes:

  • Establishing the joint venture
  • Creating initial design concepts
  • Coordinating leases
  • Undertaking wind studies
  • Undertaking public and targeted consultation
  • Establishing a viable wind farm design
  • Undertaking studies to inform the Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Advancing a connection agreement with National Grid and other relevant agencies
  • Submitting a planning application
