SSE Renewables and the Viking Wind Farm Project, has donated a total of £2,500 to Whitedale Football Club which will fund 43 training shirts for the senior team.
The donation is part of SSE Renewables and Viking Energy Wind farms’ commitment to supporting a diverse range of community projects in Shetland.
Julie Graham, SSE Renewables Community Engagement Manager, handed over the cheque at the club's training session at Strom Park.
Julie said: “It has been great to be able to support the Whitedale football team with this donation.
“SSE Renewables is one of the islands’ biggest employers through the construction of our Viking Wind Farm and we remain committed to supporting local communities throughout Shetland.”
Craig Nicolson, Manager of Whitedale Football Club, said: “Whitedale are absolutely delighted to be proudly showing off their new kit wear which was provided by SSE Renewables. Over 40 tops have been rolled out to the senior team, providing a modern, professional image. A massive thanks to SSE Renewables for their generosity and support.”
