Roadworks update: possible delays on A970

Published on February 16th 2021

New sites of possible
traffic control, south of Voe

From mid-February, road users may experience occasional delays of a few minutes on the main A970 between Voe and the north end of the Lang Kames.

Traffic lights or Stop/Go boards may be used to help with the safe construction of new junctions for wind farm tracks running east and west from the main road at Scar Quilse and at Hammarigrind Scord.

Temporary traffic control measures may also be in use from time to time on the A970 at Sandwater during construction of a junction onto the new Sandwater Road.

Viking Energy would like to apologise if you find your journey is delayed.

To raise any issues relating to wind farm construction work, please contact vikingwindfarm@sse.com or call 01595 692227 (office hours) or 01595 697129 (24-hours).
