Wind farm preparatory works to get under way
Published on August 14th 2020
Our main contractor RJ McLeod is to start preparatory works for the Viking Wind Farm from Monday 17th August alongside a number of local sub-contractors.
Operations will begin with preparatory and protective works next to the existing Sandwater Road and at the site for the main compound between Sandwater and the South Nesting junction.
The teams will be working to protect and divert utility services including water pipes, telecoms cables and electricity cables in both areas. Preparations will also take place for building a temporary car park next to the Sandwater Road and for the formation of an access junction and track up to the compound site.
Given the limited nature of these preparatory works, there is no requirement at this stage to introduce traffic control measures on the main A970.
